SUMMARY:Nuance Theatre Co. - Chamber Music
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/12″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”5/6″]Opens September 17 - Runs through September 26\, 2021A Nuance Theatre Company Production[vc_empty_space alter_height=”none” hide_on_mobile=””][vc_column_text] \nCHAMBER MUSIC\nby Arthur Kopit\n\nDark Comedy? Tragedy? Absurd? Horror?\nThink you know this play? Think again…. \nArthur Kopit’s CHAMBER MUSIC…..Like not seen before! \nDirector John DeSotelle once again brings to the stage a remarkable and unexpected theatrical piece within the intimate\, close-up theater setting of The NuBox venue in Hell’s Kitchen. Armed with powerful performances and an outstanding set and light design from award winning scenic designer\, Matthew Imhoff\, this professional Equity Showcase production of Chamber Music promises to be a provocative and entertaining experience. \nIT’S CAPTIVATING.  IT’S DISTURBING. IT’S FUN – UNTIL IT’S NOT! \nSEPTEMBER 17 – 26\, 2021 \nFOR TICKETS:  CLICK HERE \nSet in the women’s ward of an insane asylum\, 1938\, Chamber Music explores transgressive themes of entrapment\, rebellion and identity.  The story revolves around a meeting of eight women to discuss what to do about a perceived threat of attack they fear is mounting from the men’s ward.  The women are (or at least believe themselves to be) eight famous figures from history: Gertrude Stein\, Susan B. Anthony\, Joan of Arc\, Queen Isabella I\, Osa Johnson\, Pearl White\, Constanze Mozart\, and Amelia Earhart.  Come and join us up the attic stairs of the asylum for an urgent member meeting……  Are you ready to meet the Committee? \nHOW IT STARTED: \nInitiated during COVID quarantine\, John DeSotelle along with an inspired team of actors starved for an artistic outlet and the need to connect and create\, chose a play not often performed yet teaming with a collection of distinctive roles. After months of exploration\, research and the re-imagining of the script and its characters the project gradually evolved into a professional main stage production of CHAMBER MUSIC…..Like you’ve not seen before! \nFEATURING: \n\n \n \n \n \n Tah von Allmen*\n \n \n \n \n \n Natalie Streiter\n \n \n \n \n \n Mickey Pantano*\n \n \n \n \n \n Karen M.
